La progettazione di un cimitero è speculare alla progettazione di una città: in molti casi si tratta di ampliare delle strutture esistenti e quindi costruire delle periferie cimiteriali.
Purtroppo, molto spesso, ci troviamo di fronte a stratificazioni disordinate , dove il rapporto tra l'identità di ciò che esiste e di ciò che sarà costruito è sottovalutato

Il programma prevede la realizzazione di un ampliamento , dotato di unità funzionale e formale sul modello delle Siedlungen: per i primi 40 anni le salme saranno sepolte in un camposanto, successivamente, per altri 40 anni, saranno trasferite in ossari individuali, infine saranno poste, a tempo indeterminato, in un ossario e cinerario comune.
Il naturale processo di trasformazione delle salme sarà accompagnato dalla successione delle sepolture, in un graduale passaggio dal personale al collettivo.

Le tipologie degli spazi di sepoltura sono: il camposanto, la torre ossario  ed il chiostro.
Il camposanto è formato da terrazzamenti che seguono la topografia naturale del sito ed è' a bassa densità di sepoltura: la forma organica deriva dalla struttura orografica.
Le salme saranno sepolte in sarcofagi di marmo ed in loculi parzialmente interrati, identificati da una lapide di copertura.
La torre ossario è formata da singole ossarine, disposte in modo da formare un'unica urna collettiva, protetta da un portale in calcestruzzo
L'ossario ed il cinerario comune sono racchiusi in un chiostro, uno spazio protetto ed intimo: le salme, ormai prive della loro individualità, saranno accolte da uno spazio claustrale che le conserverà a perpetua memoria.

L'ampliamento è dotato di spazi di servizio per gli utenti e per il personale, i percorsi sono differenziati tra veicolari, pedonali e per disabili.

I diversi luoghi del cimitero sono stati costruiti con due tipi di pietra: le sepolture con Marmo di Carrara bianco C; il resto con Calcare di Vicoforte lo nelle sue diverse forme ed applicazioni: ghiaino 4-8, ghiaia 30-50, conglomerato cementizio lavato, conglomerato cementizio bocciardato, muri in pietrame a spacco a secco , muri in pietrame a spacco legati con malta, rocaille in massi a secco.

L'ampliamento ha un'estensione di  5600 mq ed un costo di costruzione di 140 €/mq.
I costi contenuti permetteranno di dare in concessione le sepolture ad un prezzo equo.

The planning of a cemetery reflects the city's planning: in many cases it involves expanding the
existing structures, thus building peripheral cemeteries.
However, we often find disorderly stratifications, where the relationship between the identity of what exists and what will be constructed is undervalued.

The project foresees a partly self sufficient expansion, which includes a formal and functional unit based on the Siedlungen model: for the fist forty years the remains will be buried in the graveyard, then for the next forty years they will be transferred to individual ossuaries, and finally they will be placed indeterminately in a common ossuary and cinerary urn.
The natural process of the transformation of the remains will be followed by a succession of burials, in a gradual passage from the personal to the collective.
It has three main burial sites: the burial area; the ossuary tower; and the cloistered ossuary.
The burial ground is carefully terraced into the natural topography of the site, and has a low burial density: its systematic shape derives from the orographical structure.
The remains will be buried in marble sarcophagi and in partially buried burial niches, identified by a
covering tombstone.

The ossaury tower is made up of single small niches, laid to form a single collective urn, protected by a concrete portal.
The common ossuary and cinerary urn are enclosed in a cloister: in a protected and intimate space. The remains, having by this time lost their individuality, will be placed in a cloistered space, where they will preserved perpetually.
The expansion is equipped with service spaces for visitors and staff, and is served by three types of paths: vehicular, pedestrian and for the disabled.

The various parts of the cemetery have been built with two types of stones: the burials with White C Carrara Marble, while the rest with Vicoforte Limestone, in different shapes and applications: 4-8 chippings, 30-50 gravel, washed concrete, concrete bushing, dry-walls in cursed local rubble, walls in cursed local rubble bound with mortar, stone gardens with boulders.

The extension covers 5600 m2 at the cost of € 140 / m2.
The contained costs will make the burial lots available at an equitable price.
